Spring is on the way!

     Little Egret

Moonlight Symphony

Still Water

Hi all!

A bit of excitement at Stoke House the other day . I was cutting back some fruit trees in the orchard when a large heron-like bird flew in and landed not very far from me. It was pure white and looked just like a heron. On checking on the internet it was either a great (very rare) or common egret which is still unusual in our area. My neighbour Peter is quite an authority on wildlife in general and he came and took the adjacent photo. Unfortunately not a great egret. Nearly but not quite a Bill Oddie moment!

I have had to cut back the apple trees in the orchard by around 1.5mtrs. Each year when I pruned I seemed to have to go up another step. Ran out of steps this year so out with the pruning saws!!

Been very active in the pottery this winter preparing for the end of The Great War ceremonies  this year. Pic shows another batch for the kiln.

Having retired to the beautiful Herefordshire countryside and reached the ripe old age of seventy, I had a wish to share with anyone who may be interested, my love of painting and pottery. I hope you will enjoy your visit.
